OK, so we're biased. But we had to tell you...
Our EIC, UMNIA, has a new Short Film series that's coming out for FREE on YouTube every week - from now until the end of the year.
We'll be upfront with you: this one isn't impartial. Kitchen Sink is a project from OBSCURAE, which means we have every reason to be biased — but we're gonna tell you anyway.
Kitchen Sink is an eight-part short film anthology dropping weekly on YouTube from now until the end of the year. Each film is its own world: a 50s sci-fi romp, an 80s camp spy caper in the shadows of Soho, a Moonlight-inflected psychological drama, a sapphic coming-of-age story, a Wes Anderson-adjacent study of neurodivergence, an AI ethics standoff, and more.
The project was filmed over 10 days during the summer last year and had over 30 people working on it – it was ambitious, and one that so many of us are proud to have been part of. It was entirely produced by UMNIA through OBSCURAE Productions; 7/8 films were directed by her, and 2/8 were written by her, too! Other familiar names you may see in the credits include Nor García Grau, Lucie Neale, Juanita Prieto, Elliana Martell, and Jett Christie! Truly a family affair, and so many other new names we're excited to introduce you to.
The story starts on the 1st May, and the full series trailer is out now. See you for the time-bending chaos!
