MUBI and Everyman are turning Everyman Screen on the Green into a three-day sound system for cinema this August, with Sonic Journeys Weekender running from 7–9 August 2026.
Curated by MUBI at Everyman, the weekend is built around films defined by unforgettable music, masterful scores and immersive sound design: concert documentaries, sound-led horror and sci-fi, cult favourites, anniversaries, DJ sets and conversations about how cinema sounds as much as it looks.
The weekender opens on Friday 7 August with one of the first UK screenings of Jane Schoenbrun’s Cannes Queer Palme winner Teenage Sex And Death At Camp Miasma, presented in partnership with Crack and preceded by a DJ set from Hannah Holland. Starring Hannah Einbinder and Gillian Anderson, the film arrives with an Alex G soundtrack and a slasher shape that sounds as strange as it looks.
Across the weekend, the programme also includes a live Q&A with Sound of Metal Oscar-winning sound designer Nicolas Becker hosted by Edith Bowman; a 25th anniversary screening of Bend It Like Beckham with an extended introduction from The MUBI Podcast and a live DJ set; Robert Altman’s Nashville; Oliver Laxe’s Sirāt; Jonathan Glazer’s Under the Skin with Mica Levi’s score; and Mitski: The Land, a virtual gig experience from the indie singer-songwriter.
There is also a special surprise screening billed as a documentary about the only acceptable answer to the question: “Blur or Oasis?”
